The Community of Llanystumdwy
As you see from the map, the community of Llanystumdwy is a large part of Eifionydd. From the north side of the Cambrian Railway at Hafan y Môr, past Broom Hall towards the Creamery at Rhydygwystl along the main road past Castell Gwgan and Trallwyn Lodge before bearing right at Gydrhos towards Bryn Mawr and Brychyni, Hendre Cennin and the upper regions of the Lôn Goed. Then it stretches past Gwindy Llecheiddior towards Tŷ Cerrig and the twoYstum Cegids and Penybryn on the outskirts of Cricieth, following the railway towards the river Dwyfor estuary and then back towards Hafan y Môr.
There are four wards in the community; Llangybi Ward which includes Sardis, Pencaenewydd and Llangybi; Llanarmon Ward which includes Llanarmon, Chwilog and Afonwen. The Rhoslan Ward includes the hamlet of Rhoslan and the area towards Ynys and the upper regions of the Lôn Goed while the Llanystumdwy Ward includes Llanystumdwy itself and the area towards Penygroes Llanystumdwy.
